The C-USA was founded in 1996 with the merger of the the Metro Conference and Great Midwest Conference. For a relatively new conference it has seen significant realignments during its young history. From 2005 to 2020 C-USA would see itself go through 4 different realignment as schools played a 'musical chairs' version of conference shopping.
