GULF SOUTH CONFERENCE



Founded in 1970 the Gulf South Conference (GSC) was originally known as the Mid-South Athletic Conference or Mid-South Conference. These names were short-lived as the league changed its name to the Gulf South Conference in 1971. One note of interest, there was no GSC Meet from 1987 to 2015. It would appear that during this time period only 3 schools in the GSC were fielding T&F programs. Insufficient funding for T&F seems to be the main reason for these programs being dropped.
