The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 as the College Conference of Illinois. As one can guess it was made up of schools located in Illinois. Its name was changed in 1967 to the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin to recognize the inclusion of two Wisconsin schools (Carthage & Carroll) which had earlier joined the conference.
