THE IVY LEAGUE CONFERENCE
The Ivy League schools are the oldest schools in America with Harvard being the oldest (founded in 1636) and Cornell being the "newest" (founded 1865).
The 'Ivy League' moniker however is somewhat recent compared to the founding of these Ivy institutions. The Ivy League Conference was started in 1954 but the Ivy schools have been competing in T&F since the late 1800s. In 1935 a conference-type meet was organized and called the Heptagonal Games in which these Ivy schools would compete and these Games would eventially become the Ivy Lg. Conference Meet starting in 1954.
