The American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) is another one of the older collegiate athletic conferences in the United States. Founded in 1922 this Division III conference was initially named the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Association and would soon change to the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) in 1927. As one might guess from the name, member schools were all located in Iowa until 2016 when Nebraska Wesleyan University joined the IIAC in the 2016. In 2018 the IIAC changed its name to the American Rivers Conference to reflect its current makeup.
