The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) was founded in 1951, but the history of this meet goes back to 1928. These schools made up the State Normal Schools and Teachers' Colleges of Eastern Pennsylvania. Whatever the official branding was during 1928 to 1950 we cannot find. Originally founded as the State Teachers Conference, the conference was briefly named the Pennsylvania State Teachers College Conference in 1956 before assuming its current name (PSAC) in 1964.
