The North Central Conference (NCC) was formed in 1922 and was also known as the North Central Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. A Div. II conference, its member schools were primarliy from the Upper MidWest of the United States. It would appear that the demise of the NCC started when member schools began transitioning their athletic programs from DII to DI during the 2000s. By November of 2006 it was announced that the 2007-08 athletic season would be the final season for the NCC and that the conference would cease operations in July of that year.
